"El tecladista italiano Alessandro Di Benedetti, proveniente de una banda de la misma nacionalidad llamada Mad Crayon, ha editado, según hemos leído, varios álbumes en solitario bajo el seudónimo de Inner Prospekt. En este nuevo ámbito, su último trabajo ¨Deep Ghosts¨, es la representación de una forma distinta de componer y hacer música. Di Benedetti ensaya una extraña mezcla de ambient, electrónica, experimental, (¿y progresivo?), utilizando synthes, guitarras, efectos, percusión electrónica, a tal punto que no nos dejó hacer pie al comenzar a escucharlo. Difícil de sintetizar mentalmente, utiliza pequeñas melodías (o tramos de ellas) que se discontinuan, no se repiten, inmersas en densos climas sugerentes, sumándose en un total que, sin embargo, mantiene un orden establecido. No se hace difícil de oír, pero es todo un desafío su asimilación. Una faceta bien distinta de la música de rock contemporáneo a la que estamos acostumbrados en el Portal. No se agota ni en cien pasadas, supongo. Gratifica y entusiasma encontrar algo así para investigar y abrir la mente. Si alguien cree que luego, finalmente, podrá tararear alguno de los temas de este disco, está totalmente equivocado. Imperdible."

Not content to redefine the classic RPI with his band Mad Crayon, he also explores the thin line between prog and electronica with his Inner Prospekt project. "Dreaming of Tony Banks" and "the Gene Machine" are both stellar musical propositions, offering electronic music done prog style, which means tons of soloing on a variety of keyboard instruments as well as typical prog structure. Inner Prospect is the one-man project of the Mad Crayon keyboardist Alessandro Di Benedetti. He does all the instruments here. That is drums, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals. English vocals.

This is my first meeting with Inner Prospect too. I have only reviewed and listened to one Mad Crayon album too. An album I liked a lot.

I feared this was going to be a plonk-pling-plong ambient album. One-man band tends to be leaning towards less complex music due to just being one musician. Thankfully, I was wrong in this case.

Inner Prospekt is off course leaning towards the less-is-more formula. But there is also a lot of meaningful melodies here. Melodies leaning towards the darker side of neo-prog.

The music on this fifty minutes long album is both melodic and very melancholic. It is also a bit gloomy. The music is also very clever as it has a good piano, keyboard and guitar tone. The time shifts, shades and lights are well done. Well done and good.

The vocals are rusty and very melancholic too. Those vocals, which is not that dominating, is also adding a lot of quality to this album.

The end result is a surprisingly good album and one project I want to explore more. This is an album well worth chedking out at this Bandcamp page.
